brunei.app was founded in early 2025 on a single idea: a short name anyone could put theirs in front of. *.brunei.app was the hook.

Where it came from

The first tools went live on its own subdomains: a calendar, a utility calculator and a car loan calculator. Then the studio stepped off the domain, with native apps for macOS and a game.

It is still building. More and more of what comes next runs on AI: agents, automation, tools that do the next step on their own.

Why build any of this?

Because it's fun to find out.

Every app here started with a question: what can we build now, with agentic coding as it is today?

Some answers became tools people use every day. Others are still on the bench. Each one was interesting to make, and each shows a little more of what's possible.

That's the reason. Curiosity, mostly.

  • No. brunei.app is an independent company. The Utility Calculator is not affiliated with USMS, the Department of Electrical Services (DES) or the Public Works Department (JKR). The Calendar is not published by the Ministry of Education or the Prime Minister's Office. The Car Loan calculator is not a lender and has no bank partner; its Hybrid structures follow published bank hire-purchase terms. Where a tool draws on an official publication, it says which.

  • Holidays follow official announcements and the MOE academic calendar. Dates that depend on moon sighting are marked tentative until they are announced, then updated. Tariffs come from published schedules and are re-checked when they change. The calculators are estimates built from those published rules; your bill, statement or offer letter is the only authoritative figure.

  • Through one thing: yourname.brunei.app subdomain leases, a name of your own and a way to be part of the domain. Otherwise it is self-funded.

  • People, businesses and projects with a connection to Brunei Darussalam.

  • No. brunei.app is one domain; a subdomain is a lease under its published rules. A .bn or .com.bn domain is a registration in your own name through the national registry. If the name matters to your business, hold both.

  • The calculators run in your browser, and the figures you enter are not sent to brunei.app. Aggregated, anonymous usage analytics show which features are used.
